Proofreading

When translating, the translator functions as a proofreader. I get to read the source text before the target user.

Proofreading is carried out to check the linguistic accuracy of the translated text.  The translation is carefully checked on spelling, grammar, syntax and careless mistakes.

In addition to this, if desired, I can compare the source text with the translation to ensure that no sentences or headings have been forgotten. Numbers, dates and names must also be checked and adapted to the target language.

At the end of a translation, proofreading is an essential element for quality assurance.
